MicroStrategy Announces Availability of Inexpensive Business Reporting Software

Reporting Packages Deliver Scalable Business Reporting at Dramatically Lower Prices

McLean, Va., (April 19, 2006) –

MicroStrategy® Incorporated (NASDAQ: MSTR), a leading worldwide provider of business intelligence software, today announced the availability of four new low-cost reporting software packages. These packages are attractively-priced bundles of existing MicroStrategy products designed to deliver Pixel-Perfect(TM) reporting to business users, with prices starting as low as $150 per named user.

MicroStrategy is known for its scalable, feature-rich business intelligence product line suitable for both business users and data analysts. The new reporting packages, which are priced 30% – 70% lower than MicroStrategy’s full-featured a la carte products, give report consumers the reporting features they require and take full advantage of MicroStrategy’s outstanding scalability and industrial-strength reliability.

With these low-cost reporting packages, customers can economically deploy reporting applications to thousands of users against terabytes of data. The MicroStrategy reporting packages are well-suited for customers considering reporting packages from Business Objects or Cognos, who are concerned about the scalability, reliability, and the seamless integration of reporting and analytics in these products. Existing MicroStrategy customers who want to fully leverage their investment in order to deliver reports economically to large business user populations will also find these packages attractive.

“At Chuck Latham Associates, we have ‘large company’ requirements on a tight budget,” said Bobby Brown, IT Director of Chuck Latham Associates. “MicroStrategy’s reporting packages enable us to implement enterprise-level reporting without the larger price tag that is typically associated with this type of business intelligence solution.”

Since the metadata is 100% compatible with MicroStrategy’s full-featured product line, companies can leverage all of their reporting project investments including report definitions, security definitions, user roles, and user privileges, if and when they migrate to MicroStrategy’s full-featured products.

“The new reporting bundles nicely combine multiple products into one bundle, both simplifying the purchasing process and reducing the price point over the previous a la carte or server-based, clock-speed pricing options,” said Cindi Howson, President of ASK and author of BIScorecard product reviews. “MicroStrategy is known for its ability to handle some of the most demanding BI applications with large data and user scalability requirements, and these reporting packages enable companies to start with the precise features needed for report consumers and then expand their reporting capabilities as their BI initiatives dictate.”

“MicroStrategy’s new report-centric packages offer reporting features comparable to Crystal Reports, but with greater data and user scalability,” said MicroStrategy COO, Sanju Bansal. “Companies can take advantage of these attractively-priced reporting packages as they build their initial BI applications or expand reporting capabilities to more users across their enterprise.”

MicroStrategy Extends Ad-hoc Query Capabilities

Simplified Report Creation for Power Users

McLean, Va., (March 09, 2006) –

MicroStrategy® Incorporated (NASDAQ: MSTR), a leading worldwide provider of business intelligence software, today announced that it has extended its reporting capabilities with the addition of a new graphical Query Builder interface for ad-hoc queries. This enhancement is part of the latest release of MicroStrategy 8, which became generally available on February 10, 2006.

Query Builder enables power users to query directly against operational data stores without hand coding SQL. The graphical Query Builder interface makes it easy to select tables and columns and define joins visually. Power users with knowledge of the data model have vast flexibility to ask almost any type of business question with Query Builder.

With the addition of Query Builder, MicroStrategy now offers a full continuum of reporting and ad-hoc query capabilities for all types of users. For power users, Query Builder simplifies ad-hoc queries by using familiar query-by-example techniques. For developers, the free-form SQL capabilities introduced with the first release of MicroStrategy 8 allow for custom-defined SQL statements and stored procedures in ad-hoc reporting. For business analysts, MicroStrategy offers simple drag-n-drop ad-hoc query capabilities and a Report Builder wizard for prompt-driven query construction. Report consumers can run a full range of reports using pre-defined report templates and prompted filters to select the information they need, within defined parameters.

“The new Query Builder expands upon MicroStrategy’s ability to access operational data sources and allows developers to create custom SQL in a point-and-click fashion,” said Cindi Howson, President of ASK and author of BIScorecard product reviews. “With this latest improvement, MicroStrategy offers both flexibility for rapid report creation and prototyping as well as a highly modeled environment for enterprise reporting and analysis.”

“While the first release of MicroStrategy 8 focused on improvements to the business user experience with an enhanced, easy-to-use Web interface for reporting and analysis, the latest release delivers exciting new functionality to the power user,” said MicroStrategy COO Sanju Bansal.

Angel.com and National Directory Information Services Join Forces to Serve Pharmaceutical Companies with IVR Solution for New Marketing Program

Companies Create Application for Activation of Co-Pay Reduction Cards for New Prescriptions and Collection of Survey Data

McLean, Va. (March 07, 2006) –

Angel.com, a leading provider of on-demand call center and Interactive Voice Response (IVR) solutions and a division of MicroStrategy® Incorporated (NASDAQ: MSTR), today announced that National Directory Information Services, LLC is using Angel.com technology to provide major pharmaceutical companies with an IVR solution to support national marketing programs.

The solution incorporates web and phone-based activation of co-pay reduction cards for new prescriptions. When patients receive these cards from their doctor, they can call a toll-free number – powered by Angel.com – to activate the card, which can then be used to reduce payment toward a new prescription. Through early tracking of the program, National Directory Information Services has found that approximately 80 percent of consumers rely on the phone, as opposed to a companion web interface, for activation.

The web and IVR applications were developed by National Directory Information Services utilizing its proprietary 411XML® directory technology and Angel.com’s SiteBuilder on-demand IVR solution. Other companies involved in the solution include D2M Solutions, Inc., the technology provider for the card manufacturing, banking transactions and overall data-tracking solution; and The Macaluso Group, a pharmaceutical-industry marketing company.

“The transactional capabilities of Angel.com’s technology allow us to facilitate the steps of the activation process through a phone call in a similar fashion to a web application,” said Richard Weerts, principal and co-founder of National Directory Information Services. “The web and IVR applications are completely integrated and meet banking requirements for cardholder identification while protecting the consumer’s privacy. We could not have created this application without Angel.com’s superior IVR solution.”

The application also includes the ability for the caller to opt-in to receive additional information by mail, and asks a few simple but important survey questions to help the pharmaceutical company better understand patient needs. The entire call takes just four to six minutes using professionally recorded prompts and Angel.com’s accurate and reliable speech recognition technology.

“At Angel.com, we are amazed and inspired on a daily basis by companies that turn to our technology to create innovative and exciting new applications,” said Michael Zirngibl, President and CEO of Angel.com. “The fact that 80 percent of new co-pay reduction card activations take place over the phone rather than through the web interface provides further evidence for our belief that our technology has meaningful, long-term relevance. We are extremely pleased to be a part of an important marketing initiative on the part of large and successful pharmaceutical companies.”

One of the most active programs in use by a pharmaceutical company currently registers more than 7,500 new activations per month. The application can also be used by companies in other industries to provide incentives for new customers in a similar debit card format.
